  • Paramekkavu Bhagavathy Temple: Historians date the site to over 1,000 years. Bhagwati is the presiding deity in this temple
  • Peruvanam Mahadeva Temple: This is one of the oldest temples in Kerala and is said to be as old as Kerala
  • Poonkunnam Shiva Temple: The temple is unique, as the main deity Shiva is placed alongside Sastha, Partha Sarathi and Nagaraja
  • Sri Krishna Temple: The temple is also known as Bhuloka Vaikunta
  • Thriprayar Sree Rama Temple: Is a historical temple dedicated to Ram, but the unique feature is that the idol has a semblance to Shiva as well
  • Thiruvambadi Sri Krishna Temple: Devotees visiting the temple can enjoy a meal served by the temple authorities
  • Trikkur Mahadeva Temple: The 7th century temple, is a beautiful rock-cut temple in honour of Shiva
  • Vadakkunnathan Temple: The temple is huge and spreads across nine acres. The remarkable features of the temple are the tall towers that signify the four directions and the murals on the walls. The temple has three shrines, dedicated to Rama, Shiva and Shankaracharya

Thrissur has always been a scholarly town, and historical data shows that Vedic science and Sanskrit and traditional art forms existed here many centuries ago.
