Types of Metals Used for Architectural Services

Lead Metal

The lead metal has a low melting point, which allows its use on a wide scale. The lead metal was one of the first made of metal for architectural purposes. Lead metal is commonly used for windowpanes and stained glass in metal finishing, and lead metal was frequently made by adding paints. 

Tin Metal

Tin metal is very soft, malleable, and white metal, known as “bronze” in ancient times, mainly copper-tin alloys. This metal has an iron protection layer—an architectural tin selection for the very best in unique and custom metal. The tin metal has 2 categories 1) copper and 2) tin coating. Zinc Metal

Copper and Its Alloys

Copper has outstanding durability, and copper has different types of formats, such as carbonates, sulfates, sulfides, and chlorides. The cost of copper was traditionally high, but it’s a one-time investment and will give you good service. This metal was mainly used for decorative purposes, including architectural ornaments, siding, ceilings, or sculptures.

Nickel and Iron

Nickel has been used for planting architectural services details. Nickel is a very rare material for metal finishing. The second category of nickel is “Nickel Silver”, which is also known as “German Silver” until World War 1. Nickel has different colors such as white, yellow, blue, green, and pink. Iron is an essential architectural building component. Iron has various forms such as cast iron, wrought iron, and steel. Iron; was mainly used for minor structures and decorative elements from the start of the 18th century.
