10 Ways To Enjoy Being Pregnant

Almost all pregnant women have heard a bunch of pregnancy horror stories, and at least some unsolicited advice. In this already delicate state, this can create additional anxiety. Even though there may be a storm of emotions and many sleepless nights, and often some pain as well, your pregnancy is a blessing, and you should enjoy it. We have 10 ways to make your pregnancy more enjoyable for soon-to-be moms. 

1. Go on Daily Relaxing Walks  

Nothing will calm your nerves and put you in a better mood than taking a nice relaxing walk, especially if the weather is just how you like it. Keep in mind that you don’t have to go to a fancy park or the beach to go for a walk, a stroll around your neighbourhood is just enough. It will stop your hormones from raging and you will be relaxed. 

2. Take Advantage of Your Status  

There is no shame in asking people to help you run when you are pregnant. You shouldn’t feel bad saying yes to people who offer to help carry bags or packages or even offer you a seat on the bus. Those are all much safer than saying no and doing things yourself. 

3. Start Making Healthier Choices 

There is no better time to start living healthier than while you’re pregnant. That’s because you will have to be careful what you are eating as well as making sure that you are eating more nutritious food because you are feeding another tiny human that is growing inside of you. Pregnancy food needs to be something that is delicious but very nutritious.   

4. Get Creative 

We all know that when you are pregnant you are going through so many different emotions all at once. What better time to channel your inner artist than when you are flooded with emotions? There are so many different things that you can do from journaling to creating art. Choose to do something that will make you less overwhelmed and happier. 

5. Nap Whenever Your Heart Desires 

When you become a mom your sleep schedule will drastically change, therefore it is important that you get as much sleep as possible while you still can. If your body tells you to, take multiple naps during the day and you will be feeling as fresh as new. The most important thing that you do when you are pregnant is getting enough sleep. 

6. Watch Your Favourite Movies 

Is there a better time to binge-watch all your favourite movies and series than while you are pregnant? When you are relaxing, take your time and dedicate it to watching all your favourite shows and movies and enjoying your favourite snacks. 

7. Do Something With Your Hair  

If you are one of those ladies whose hair suddenly got thicker and stronger, what better time to try out new hairstyles and experiment than now. You can try out different colours that you never had the courage to try or go for a fun new haircut to mark this amazing period. But even though you should experiment, always make sure that you are not putting any harsh chemicals on your hair because it can be bad for your scalp, hair and your baby. 

8. Don’t Forget to Laugh  

Due to the fact that pregnancy is such a different and unusual experience, you will encounter many interesting and funny situations. Maybe even some embarrassing moments will arise during the course of your pregnancy. But you can’t let them get to you. To cope with such situations, you should learn how to laugh at them. Instead of beating yourself up, laugh with your partner about it and have it be a funny memory. 

9. Start Reading Books

If you don’t like watching movies or just staring at a screen, you can still spend some time relaxing and doing something you love. You can pick up a new book instead. Mark the books off your wish list, or better yet read some parenting books. Those can be really helpful when the baby comes since you won’t have that much free time to dedicate to reading once the baby is there. 

10. Enjoy a Relaxing Spa Day

When you’re pregnant you should get pampered because pregnancy is hard work, and you deserve it. If you don’t want to do it on your own, you can take yourself on a spa day. Try out different massages as well as facials. This can help you feel relaxed and maybe ease some of the pain in your body. 

In spite of some challenges that pregnancy brings, you should look for the positive in this life-changing experience. Take care of yourself by creating a relaxing environment for yourself. Try to enjoy every moment of it. These moments will stay with you forever, so make the most of them and create wonderful memories.
