Land of culture and history stretching back to Roman times, London is a financial centre and home to the famous iconic “Big Ben”, the London Eye observation wheel and Westminster Abbey. It is a piece of little heaven for art and history nerds with numerous museums and galleries, which are famous. The city has a lot to offer for every age group and for each one’s niche interests which includes architecture, transport, interior design, banking, film, fashion and cricket. 1.The British Museum 

Spread over 900,000 square feet and considered as one of the best museums of London, the British Museum was founded in 1753. The museum gives you an experience of passing through several eras and cultures with the collections of over eight million works from Asia, Africa, Ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome. Assembled in a breath-taking setting, the collection includes the 196BC Rosetta Stone, the Lewis Chessmen and Parthenon sculptures.

2.Victoria and Albert Museum

Founded in 1852, Victoria and Albert Museum is a gorgeous red-brick palace building and is the world’s largest museum of applied and decorative arts and design. The museum houses collections of over 2.27 million artefacts. 3.Natural History Museum

This museum is a treasure-trove of natural history with over 80 million specimens from various segments like botany, mineralogy, zoology entomology and palaeontology. Considered as one of the best museums, it houses the world’s most impressive exhibits of dinosaurs. The temporary exhibits include photographs of world-renowned Wildlife Photographers. The highlight being the 25.2-metre-long skeleton of a blue whale hanging from the ceiling. The museum hosts late night silent discos mixed with light learning.  Natural History Museum

Established in 1824, the National Gallery is located at the centre of London’s busiest square- Trafalgar Square.  For art lovers the gallery serves as a godly place on earth. The gallery houses over 2,300 paintings right from the 13th century to 1900, which includes marvellous work of Leonardo Da Vinci, Van Gogh, Claude Monet, Georges Seurat and Cezanne and many more.
