5 Reasons to visit Nag Tibba on a Solo Trip

Nag Tibba means the serpent’s peak, located in the Gharwal region of the Himalayas. it is one of the parts of the three Himalayan ranges which are Pir Panjal range, Dhauladhar range, and Nag Tibba range situated at an elevation of 3050mv(10006ft). If you want to see the amazing view of thirteen peaks so you have to take this trip to Nag Tibba all by yourself.

The best time to visit Nag Tibba is at the end of September – March or you can visit in mid-November to experience the winters out there. To reach this beautiful destination all you need to do is pack your bags with all your necessities and step out of your home. Nag Tibba is a 10km trek from the base of a camp in Patwari which is 60km from Mussoorie.

By rail– Dehradun is the nearest railway station from where the distance to Mussoorie is 33km.

By road– you can take a bus from Delhi to Mussoorie which is at a distance of 285km.

1. Weekend getaway

 This is the perfect trek for the people who are planning for the weekends at some kind of peaceful yet beautiful and adventurous place. The total trek is 18km and near Delhi. It’s perfect for beginners and for solo travelers too.

2. Absence of step terrains

The Nag Tibba is the easiest trek the one with no trekking experience can also do this trek. it is very gentle without any kind of steep climbs. It is a very straight climb from basecamp to top.

3. Ravishing beauty 

One can get the magical view of Bandar punch, black peak, Swarga Rohini, Gangotri, Kedarnath, Doon valley, and Chanabang.

4. Nature lover

Nag Tibba is perfect to spot the beauty of nature in winters as well the snow around everywhere sparkling in the sun, the snow-capped mountains and the beauty of green pine trees in mid of snow is perfect for pictures. 

5. Explore Mussorie

You can also explore the famous hill station the queen of hills Mussoorie having everything in its beauty will leave you spellbound to visit this place again. The peace in the lap of nature is peace to the soul.

About the trek

Reach at Pantwari at an altitude of (2600m) above sea level, from Pantwari to Nag Tibba base camp it takes 5 hrs, and the distance of (7km). In between, you have some stalls to refresh yourself. And from Nag Tibba basecamp to Nag Tibba summit is at the altitude of (3050m) above sea level. It is at a distance of (3km) which takes 2 hrs. Reaching the Nag Tibba summit you will experience happiness and joy. From Nag Tibba summit to Pantwari it is (10km) which can be completed in 8 hrs.

Things to carry

  1. Warm clothes(sweater, jackets, hand gloves)
  2. 2-3 pairs of warm socks
  3. Basic toiletries(sanitizer, tissue paper, body lotion, lip balm)
  4. Trekking gear
  5. Trekking shoes
  6. Necessary medicines
  7. Chocolates, energy bar, protein bars
  8.  Head Torch
  9. Water bottle

Things to remember:

  1. You need to start working out just some physical body movement kind of workout to be at your ease during trekking in snow.
  2. Keep yourself hydrated throughout the trek.
  3. Always have some food with you and have it timely.
  4. Do not litter in the mountains or anywhere, and keep your surroundings clean.
  5. Carry a reusable plastic bag with you.
  6. Keep the medicines ready if you have mountain sickness or motion sickness problems.
  7. Don’t be in a hurry to reach the top take adequate breaks and relax in between the trek.

Nag Tibba is the beautiful snow paradise to experience the thrill, adventure, fun all in one package so don’t waste your weekend go on your own and make some new friends on the journey and experience the beauty of nature. Travel is all about learning, exploring and it is not possible unless you yourself take an initiative to give yourself that happiness.
